Canal Barge Management Team receives the 2009 ACG Louisiana “Deal Maker of the Year Award”

On May 20, 2009 the Canal Barge Company management team received the Association of Corporate Growth Louisiana Chapter’s Deal Maker of the Year Award for the smooth and successful acquisitions of Illinois Marine Towing Company in the fall of 2008 and the inland marine assets of ConocoPhillips in the fall of 2007.

“With so much focus on the boom/bubble industries, it’s great to see a smart, solid, well-manage company like Canal Barge rewarded for its performance even though it operates in a traditional industry,” commented Bill Hines of Jones Walker. “The good decisions by Canal Barge management over the last 10 years put them in position to take advantage of these two major opportunities right on top of one another.
